Role of Suprachoroidal Anti-VEGF Injections in Recalcitrant Serous Pigment Epithelium Detachment

Purpose: Retinal pigment epithelial detachments (PEDs) are characterized by a separation between the RPE and innermost aspect of Bruch's membrane. Many chorioretinal diseases can lead to detachment which most common is age-related macular degeneration; but significant number PEDs idiopathic in etiology. be classified as drusenoid, serous, vascularized, or fibrovascular type.
 Currently, serous PED has not shown much response treatment, so no specific treatment guidelines established. Whereas vascularized PEDs, have several options such intravitreal anti-Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy, laser photocoagulation, photodynamic therapy (PDT) steroids. Hence, need hour formulate strategy for PED.
 Methods: We report an original study thirty patients who were diagnosed with on Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography fundus fluorescence angiography. All presented our outpatient department chief complaint diminution vision, central/paracentralscotoma metamorphopsia. them underwent suprachoroidal anti-VEGF (bevacizumab).The followed 8 weeks.
 Results: BCVA Amsler grid assessment was recorded 3rd day,1st week, 2nd 4th 6th 8th week. Post-injection SD-OCT scan performed 6thweek. Functional improvement (BCVA) reported all patients. had reduced size height SD-OCT.
 Conclusion: Thus, result indicates that suprachoroidalbevacizumab efficacious PED. It hypothesized degenerative changes bruch membrane due metabolite deposit plays key role development PED; injecting anti VEGF drug suprachoroida space adjacent choroid superior effect.
